Our 2006 Trip to Malaysia!

Richard and Kathy Porowski had the opportunity to visit friends in Malaysia in conjunction with their China trip in 2006. Bernard and Hazel Hull have been traveling to Malaysia for many years and invited Richard and Kathy to stop in Malaysia on the way back home. The trip turned out to be excellent, and ordered of the Lord. Richard and Kathy had the opportunity to attend a conference in Genting View held every year. New friendships were established there with people and churches.

Richard and Kathy's first days in Malaysia were spent with Bernard and Hazel Hull in a city called Shah Alam, a city that is predominantly Muslim. One notices quickly the different type of clothes the people of the city wear, particularly the women with their head coverings. The large majority of the people everywhere in Malaysia that Richard and Kathy went were very friendly and eager to talk and ask questions.

The conference is made up of many different churches that meet once a year to fellowship together, worship the Lord and sit under the ministry of the word. There are many hearts hungry for Jesus there!

Charles Harvey was one of the speakers at the conference. He and his wife Yokie are leading a precious work in Thailand called Grace Ministries Thailand. One of their main objectives is to save young girls from being sold into the prostitution rings that are so prevalent in Thailand. Here are a few photos from their website of them and God's work. After the conference Richard and Kathy spent time again in Shah Alam as well as some site-seeing in Kuala Lumpur, the capitol of Malaysia.

The day Richard and Kathy began their return to California, they went with some of the brethren to Putra Jaya, the new government center for the country not far outside of Kuala Lumpur.
